WARNING: Potential Spoilers for Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum #2!The comic prelude to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has finally unveiled the ultimate fate of Great White Shark, a villain whose history within the Batman: Arkham gaming series has been both long and subtly woven. This revelation not only adds layers to the narrative but also hints at a developing trend that could hold intriguing implications for gamers.

While Great White Shark may not have reached the status of a major character within the DCU, he has long had a presence behind the scenes in the Arkham games, with various Easter eggs paying homage to him. In Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham Knight, players can stumble upon his distinct lips and nose preserved in a jar.

Additionally, in Batman: Arkham City, Great White Shark’s building can be spotted near the GCPD Building. However, despite these subtle nods, GWS has never made a direct appearance in the games, leaving his fate shrouded in mystery—until now.

Great White Shark Gets Shot Ahead of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

In John Layman and Jesus Hervas’ Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum #2, the fate of Great White Shark is finally unveiled. The narrative unfolds as Deathstroke, Deadshot, and Great White Shark navigate their way out of the asylum amidst the chaos orchestrated by Amanda Waller. As the trio regains their gear and strategizes an escape, Slade Wilson makes the ruthless decision to shoot White and Floyd, deciding that he no longer requires their assistance. With White being a lesser-known character, he is most certainly dead, unlike Deadshot, who fans know will survive due to his role in the game.

However, regardless of whether Great White Shark met his end, he will still be involved in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, albeit in a different capacity. Each issue of Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum contains a code for an exclusive in-game item for KtJL. In the case of issue two, players can redeem a “Great White Shark Weapon Doll” within the game. Therefore, even if he is confirmed deceased, Great White Shark will still have a role in the game, albeit a more innocent and stuffing-filled one.

Which Gotham Villain Will Be Killed Next in Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum?

A pattern appears to be emerging in the Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum series. In the previous issue, Victor Zsasz met his demise after King Shark bit off his head, and he was later commemorated as an in-game “weapons doll.” Now, with Great White Shark following suit, it’s probable that the trend will continue in issue three, with another Gotham Rogue meeting their end and receiving a plushy rendition. The question remains: who will be next? It will be intriguing to see the number of weapons dolls featured in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
